Pastor Doug DeRespiris

Thank you for visiting our website and your interest in our church. My call to ministry was right after I came into a relationship with the Lord Jesus and made a commitment to serve Him. As I was leaving the church service, the ministry team lined up to encourage and celebrate everybody who was at the service, and a man pulled me out of the line and pointed his finger at me and said, “God has called you to be a preacher.” Needless to say, I mocked him all the way home. I laughed at him mostly because of my past problems, not realizing God was not interested in my past, but my future. That was in October of 1994, but I never forgot what he spoke to me, as it burned in my spirit-man day and night for years.

Jesus is real to me in many different ways. Just as an example, prior to my decision to come into relationship with Jesus, I had an incurable disease that I was diagnosed with at the age of 14. It was after an emergency surgery, from a perforated small intestine, that I started seeking out answers for my life. I remember saying in intensive care, “I cannot live my life like this anymore and I need your help God.” Soon after that declaration in my hospital bed, I heard the salvation message, repented of my sins, and declared Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior (Born Again). A couple of years later, I heard a message on the broken body of Jesus, and by His broken body we could have complete physical and emotional healing. That’s all it took for me, as I proceeded to throw out all medication, and went on with my life. That was 20 years ago and I am still medication free.

Prior to position as Senior Pastor here, I owned 2 businesses. I owned a Tax & Property Management business (for 5 years prior to my salvation) and a wholesale produce company (for 13 years after my salvation). While I was managing my wholesale business I attended one church for almost 16 years. I knew in my spirit that one day I would be planting a new church or taking over an existing small church that God was positioning to be revitalized. I have been serving here since December 2009.

My wife, Robin, and I met while we were both unsaved in 1987. We have 3 grown children who have blessed us with 4 beautiful granddaughters, and our precious grandson just turned 1! Robin teaches Sunday school, is the administrative coordinator for the Good News Club, and leads the Widow’s ministry. It’s a real honor and joy to work together as a team!

My passion is people and seeing them come into an understanding that they have a destiny that has been designed by God. This destiny was designed prior to their conception in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139). I also have a strong desire to see the simple message of salvation through Jesus Christ restored to its original intent by Jesus himself.

Thank you again for your interest in our church. Robin and I hope to meet you soon. God bless you!!
